Commercial Property Experts, SMC Brownill Vickers, celebrated its 140th year anniversary during 2024 but more notably raised £6000 for their charity partners. They chose to support St Lukes and the South Yorkshire branch of the Motor Neurons Disease Association as part of their fundraising efforts throughout the year. Fundraising efforts included commissioning their own celebration gin in collaboration with Locksley Distilling Co. The team also undertook the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in September which was a particular highlight and the celebrations were topped off by fantastic dinner for clients, associates and friends at The Victoria events space in Kelham Island.
The charities were chosen by the firm due to having links with both St Lukes and MNDA. Robin Curtis of the company said “St Lukes undertake fantastic work in providing care and support within the local community to families affected by terminal illness. Within the firm there are also a number of personal connections with St Lukes. The South Yorkshire branch of MNDA was also chosen as they also help local people affected by Motor Neurons Disease as well supply funds for research into finding a cure. We have lost family and friends to the disease including our former Senior Partner, Rodger Vickers. We will continue to raise money to help and support both charities in the future but we are incredibly proud to have raised such a large amount”.
