Last week, some of our team from SMC Brownill Vickers had the pleasure of joining the Commercial Property Network on their City Visit to Edinburgh—a day filled with architecture, market insight, and outstanding hospitality.
We were treated to an exclusive tour of the St James Quarter Development which is a large galleria shopping centre and residential scheme incorporating the new W Hotel. The development is considered to be one of Europe’s most significant regeneration projects within a World Heritage Site. This was expertly led by the team at TFT. The scale and ambition of the development was clear at every turn—from the design intricacies, leasing strategies and operational vision. It was a fascinating look behind the scenes of one of Scotland’s largest developments.
Next, we enjoyed a trip to the Johnnie Walker Experience on Princes Street, which lived up to its reputation with a journey through the history, culture, and craftsmanship of Scotch whisky.
The visit concluded with drinks and dinner in the city, where conversations continued late into the evening and industry connections strengthened. This time offered an invaluable opportunity to share insights and build relationships across the Commercial Property Network.
We would like to extend our thanks to FT Linden, who generously hosted the entire day, to TFT for delivering such an informative and well-organised tour and to Buccleuch Property for generously sponsoring the evening drinks.
It was a fantastic occasion to see the energy and innovation shaping Edinburgh’s commercial landscape—and we’re already looking forward to the next city visit.
