David qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1986.
He has extensive experience both in private practice and ‘client side’ with the Sheffield College and the University of Manchester.
Whilst at Sheffield College, David led and implemented the college’s Accommodation Strategies. This involved the reconstruction of the estate and the disposal of redundant and surplus properties. The reconstruction and refurbishment of the estate amounted to over £100 million of building works and included the City Campus, Hillsborough College, Peaks Centre and Olive Grove Road centre.
David developed a facilities management service for Sheffield College and two University Technical Colleges.
Prior to that David was Senior Building Surveyor and Project Manager at the University of Manchester. He delivered 50 projects with a value of £9m involving listed buildings, new builds, refurbishments, conservation, asbestos, means of escape, research laboratories, kitchens, licensed premises, shopping centres and student accommodation.
In private practice, David has dealt with the survey, design and implementation of maintenance works for local authorities, churches and commercial clients.
